Spring on the Farm 2019

Some would say Spring is the busiest time on the farm and we couldn't agree more right now!

On the arable fields, we have been drilling Spring Wheat, Barley, Beans, Peas and Wildflowers. With not much rain this Spring, drilling was finished in good time, although a little more rain wouldn't go a miss now!

Wildflowers are planted to encourage wildlife on and around the field, this also provides a habitats for the pollinators. There are many hives around the farm too.

In the vineyard back in March, the vines were pruned back to encourage new fresh growth. The vine's buds are now really bursting out with gorgeous colour leaves, ready for the grapes to start to establish this summer.

We are now ready for a cracking Summer harvest all round!
